TrasnsmediaMIX a transdisciplinary Hackathon in a Think & Do Tank.
June 14th, 15th and 18th 2014, during the Paris Digital Festival, L'IRI (Institut de recherche et d’innovation at the Centre Pompidou) will host the TransmediaMIX, a mix between a barcamp and a hackathon. The event is aimed at encouraging the cooperation of different subjects in the creation of a transmedia experience within a storyworld about changemakers in the field of education.
MobilEvent launches the 5th edition of the Cross Video Days to be held on June 19th and 20th in Paris. The Cross Video Days is a unique venue bringing together producers and innovative creators, start-ups and policy makers. With more than 350 projects received from 34 countries in 2013, Cross Video Days is the first coproduction market for crossmedia programs in Europe.
Smart People & Smart Cities is a two days event organized by technology magazine Wired Italy which will take place on April 12 and 13 at the National Science and Technology Museum in Milan (Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnologia). Although two days seem to be quite a short time, Smart People & Smart Cities offers a dense program full of exciting meetings, workshops and conferences concerning future perspectives of change of urban spaces and cities.
In 2014, for the first time, the Games for Change festival joins the Tribeca Film Festival: the 11th edition of the Game for Change Festival will be held in New York from the 22nd to the 26th of April 2014, within the framework of the Tribeca Film Festival Innovation Weeks.
Open Minds to Open Action is the claim for the 2014 edition of the Open Knowledge Festival, hosted by the large architectural complex of Kulturbrauerei in Berlin from the 15th to the 17th of July 2014.
Organised by the Open Knowledge Foundation the Festival will bring together the open movement makers, thinkers, activists and researchers, over 1.000 people from more than 60 countries, to share their skills and experiences in the field of open data and open knowledge, working together to design tools, knowledge and information that are freely shared for anyone, anywhere, to use for any purpose.
On May 13th and 14th 2014 the fourth edition of Smart City Event will be held in Amsterdam. Smart City Event aims to bring together stakeholders for smart cities to let them share their knowledge and experiences. The 2013 edition was a big success with 520 international parties attending the meeting.
By the end of the first part of of this year (2014) the Province of Noord-Brabant will be the first to have an interactive bicycle path in the Netherlands.
The project, designed by the Dutch artist Daan Roosegaarde and Heijmans, consists of a path composed of sensitive light stones that will light up at night and create beautiful patterns when bikes pass by.
On April 29th and 30th 2014 the Grand Connaught Rooms in London will host the third annual conference “Smart to Future Cities”, two days of keynotes, panels, case studies and workshops about methodologies, approaches, technologies and platforms for Smart Cities.
