DEAF Biennale is a Festival in Rotterdam ( The Netherlands ) that promotes new relations between technology and art. It is organized in collaboration with Het Nieuwe Instituut and _V2 (Institute for Unstable Media) This year's theme is the "Progress Trap".

The concept of "Progress Trap" highlights the fact that nowadays progress is something that is being achieved through technology everyday, but the results are often way too decoupled from the cultural, social and ecological advantages that it was supposed to bring.

Screencity Lab proudly presents Contemporary Perspectives on the City: Screen Media and Dwelling, the 11th NECS Graduates Workshop supported by the association.The initiative will take place on June 17-18th at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in the frame of NECS 2014 pre-conference.

Repository Fringe 2014, the original Repositories Unconference will take place on Wednesday 30th and Thursday 31st July 2014, at the Informatics Forum, University of Edinburgh. Repository Fringe is an annual meeting focused on innovative technologies for repository design, development and management.

Ryoji Ikeda at Yamaguchi Centre for Arts and Media

Acclaimed Japanese musician and video artist Ryoji Ikeda presents his new installation supersymmetry at Yamaguchi Centre for Arts and Media (YCAM) - co-produced by Le lieu unique, Scène national de Nantes. Since the beginning of his career Ikeda resulted to be one of the few artists able to combine his electronic compositions with intricate video art based on mathematics aesthetics and managing to orchestrate the whole so deftly.

Summer school on Transmedia Storytelling for Climate Change

The Climate Culture Communications Lab of the Kolleg für Management und Gestaltung nachhaltiger Entwicklung in Berlin organizes the summer school in "Transmedia Storytelling: Culture of Climate Change. Communicating for the future". It's a blended summer school: two e-learning phases and one attendance phase (from 18.08 to 30.08 2014).

Screen Studies Conference 2014:  Landscape and Environment

The 24th International Screen Studies Conference, will be held in Glasgow, Scotland, from the 27th to the 29th of June 2014. The conference is one of the most important events of its kind and it is organised and directed by Screen journal's editors Alison Butler and Alastair Phillips. This year's topic is "Landscape and Environment".

WW1 for Europeana Collection Day

WW1 - dentro la Grande Guerra and Centro Studi Storico Militari sulla Grande Guerra "Piero Pieri" will support Fondazione Corriere della Sera for the new EUROPEANA Italian Collection Day (18th May - Milan, Via Solferino 26/A, 10 AM- 6 PM).

Open Repositories 2014

The 9th International Conference on Open Repositories will be held from the 9th to the 13th of June 2014 in Helsinki, Finland. "Towards Repository Ecosystems" is the main theme of the 2014 edition: repository systems considered as part of the present research ecosystem, where no single repository can serve as the sole resource for a "knowledge community".
