Walter Benjamin and Media Theory Today
On November 19-22 Aarhus, Denmark will host world's premier media architecture event, where architects, designers and artists will discuss media architecture of the future and the changes it will bring to people's life and their surroundings. Media architecture is gaining increasing relevance, pervading cities and landscapes and changing people's contemporary conception and perception of our surrounding spaces.
The seminar is organized by the Departments DAD, DIST of Politecnico of Turin will focus on the history of the Cavallerizza Reale (a UNESCO World Heritage), its most recent usage and some future proposals: a step towards a participatory and democratic process defining its future. What new role connected to cultural purposes can be given to this location?
Starting today, Kernel Festival will enliven Villa Tittoni Traversi in Desio (MB) with the concert and visual mapping performance Envisioning Beethoven. This new show combines two different languages and expressive dimensions: symphonic music and audiovisual mapping.
Screencity Lab will take part in the Prix Italia panel "Street Art Stories" with the presence of "City as Context" program co-curator Mirjam Struppek (Interactionfield).

This year's fourth edition of Toolkit Festival will bring to Venice some of the most interesting examples of interactive contemporary art, presenting in three days incredible experiences developed at the intersection between art, performance, music and technology, interaction and new medias.
Turin, 20-25 September 2014. The video program "City as Context", developed in the context of Waterpieces Festival by SCL, will be presented during Prix Italia (Turin, 20-25 September 2014) as a double screen installation (RAI, Museo della Radio e TV, via Verdi n°16, Room C1). The framework is the Prix Italia Street Art Stories Project: as walls in street art, the urban screen could become an urban canvas for video artist and filmmakers.
City Farm, at Division Street and Clybourn Avenue, is partnering with the art group Art Depth for an interactive art, sustainability and farming festival called "Sustainable Vows", an exhibit to occur at multiple locations across Chicago during the month of October 2014 to celebrate Art Depth's 5th Annual.
The 2014 edition of the event INST-INT will be held in Minneapolis between 25-27 September. INST-INT explores the intersection of art, technology and interaction: installation art, interactive art, responsive environments, smart objects and the art of creating engaging experiences are the main topics of the event.
